Where planning often starts

With a workplace pension, the plan sets the pension beside CPP, OAS and your savings, and works out how pension income is split between spouses each year.

Meeting from Regina

Meetings can be held virtually anywhere in Saskatchewan, so the planning conversations, the plan presentation and the yearly reviews all happen by video from Regina.

Office hours

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Mountain Time, with weekends by appointment. Saskatchewan does not change its clocks, so that is 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Regina in winter, and the same hours as Calgary in summer.

In person in Calgary

If you would rather sit across the table, meetings can be held in person in Calgary.

“Most Canadians are using their worst-case insurance policy as their everyday spending plan.”

Saskatchewan rules that shape your plan

Saskatchewan has three provincial tax brackets, a probate fee of 0.7% of the estate, and a small business limit higher than the federal one. These are the 2026 figures we plan around for Saskatchewan clients.

Income tax in Saskatchewan, 2026

Saskatchewan taxes income at 10.5% up to $54,532, 12.5% to $155,805 and 14.5% above that. With the federal 33% top rate, the highest combined rate is 47.5%, on taxable income above $258,482.

Probate in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan charges $7 for every $1,000 of estate value subject to probate, or 0.7%, with no cap. On a $1,000,000 estate that is $7,000, so who is named on each RRSP, RRIF and TFSA, and how accounts are owned, is worth planning.

Corporations in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan taxes active business income at 1% up to its own $600,000 small business limit, and 12% above it. The federal limit stays at $500,000, so the combined rate is 10% on the first $500,000, 16% from $500,000 to $600,000, and 27% above that.

Financial advice in Regina: common questions

Honest answers to the questions we hear most often.

Yes, by video. Kaetyn works with clients across Canada, and meetings can be held virtually anywhere in Saskatchewan. If you would rather meet in person, meetings are held in Calgary.

There are no hidden fees: we explain every cost before you commit to anything, including our advisory fee and fund costs. Investment management is fee-based, as a percentage of assets under management, and financial planning and insurance services may have separate fee structures. The first conversation is a free, no-obligation review.

For 2026, the highest combined federal and Saskatchewan rate is 47.5%, on taxable income above $258,482. Saskatchewan's own rates start at 10.5% on the first $54,532. The Canada tax calculator works it out for a Saskatchewan resident.

Not always. Moving the maximum 50 percent is sometimes right, but the best split is often 20 or 35 percent, or none at all, because the election moves more than just taxable income. It has to be worked out again every year.

Credentials, registration and plain answers about fees. Kaetyn holds the CFA, CIM, CIWM, FCSI and CEA designations and is a representative of Designed Securities Ltd., regulated by CIRO and a member of CIPF. Ask whether the advisor plans across your personal and corporate accounts or only manages investments. We do both: tax optimization, retirement projections, insurance analysis, estate planning and corporate structuring.
